Shimla, Jan 31,
A devastating fire broke out late last night in the village of Mastot, completely destroying a two-storied house belonging to Kalam Singh. While no injuries were reported, the family suffered significant losses, informed a district administration spokesperson.
The fire, which reportedly started suddenly, quickly engulfed the entire structure. Despite efforts by villagers to contain the blaze, the fire tenders arrived too late to prevent the complete destruction of the house.
Kalam Singh and his two sons escaped unharmed but are now displaced. They have temporarily taken shelter with relatives in the village. The community has rallied together to provide immediate support with food, clothing, and temporary housing.
Authorities have promised to provide immediate relief to the affected family. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire, they stated. Local officials are assessing the damage and ensuring the safety of neighboring homes.
This tragic incident has once again underscored the need for improved fire safety measures in rural areas. Villagers are urging authorities to assist in rebuilding the lost home and provide adequate compensation to the affected family.
Further details regarding the fire and its cause will be shared as the investigation progresses.
