Former BJP Zila Parishad President Dayal Payri today joined Opposition Congress Party at New Delhi today after she was sidelined by the ruling party denying her the ticket for Pachhad bye election.
Dayal Payri turned up in the All India Congress Committee headquarter at New Delhi today and she was offered party member ship by the AICC treasure Pawan Bansal and AICC Congress incharge of Himachal Rajiv Shukala today.
Why did she rebel?
The BJP rebel Dayal Payari was annoyed by a district ruling party leader as she was pushed away from the stage attended by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in public and the clipping of the event was shared widely in the social media.
The things turned bad to worse for this elected woman leader when she was denied ticket by the saffron party forcing her to fought election as an independent candidates in 2019 by-election however she lost in the triangular fight. Though, she managed to got more than 12500 votes.
Dayal Payari was the active BJP members and she won from various ZP seat in last 15 years. After joining the Congress she said that she would work as Congress activist and will strengthen the party unit in the district Sirmaur.
BJP rebel stated that she decided to join the Congress as party gives equal representation to all section of society and nation could move froward to become more prosper under its effective leadership only. She expressed her confidence on the leader ship of Rajeev Shukla, former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Kuldeep Singh Rathore and leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri.
Impact of the move
The Congress succeed to convert the faction in ruling party in its favour as Three time ZP candidate of BJP is now in its pole which would not only strengthen the Congress in Sirmaur district but it would get edge over the Pachhad assembly seat which is with BJP currently.
