Chamba, August 22
Four members of a family were killed in a car accident in the Chamba district last night.
An official spokesman said today that those who died include Tilak Raj, a superintendent of the Head Post office, his wife, son and daughter. The family was returning to Chamba from Chauli village when their car crashed near Dand village on Kaila-Kaintly road in Churah subdivision of the district.
Villagers reached the spot after hearing the sound of the car falling. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and retrieved the bodies from the car.
SP Chamba, Abhishek Yadav said that four people died in the accident. He said that the bodies would be given to their relatives after post-mortem examination as no one from the family was alive.
