Arvind Kashyap, Solan/ Jan 14,
The Kasauli police registered a case against Haryana BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal on alleged charges of raping a woman at the Kasauli police station in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the complainant, she was allegedly raped on July 7, 2023, by the BJP leader and his associate. The complainant claimed that Rocky Mittal had lured her to become an actress in the film industry, and Badoli had promised to get her a government job.
In the complaint lodged at Kasauli police station, the victim alleged that she had been living with her friend and working with Amit, a resident of Sonipat, for about two years. Amit’s office was in Netaji Subhash Palace. She mentioned in the complaint that on July 3, 2023, she came to Himachal with her friend and Amit.
They stayed at a hotel in Solan, where they met two people who were also staying there. Both allegedly started talking to her and her friend, one of whom was Mohan Lal Badoli, who introduced himself as a politician, and the other, Rocky Mittal, alias Jai Bhagwan, who introduced himself as a singer. During their conversation, they allegedly took them to a room and suggested sitting and talking.
The complainant further alleged that Jai Bhagwan said he would give her a role as an actress in his album, while Mohan Lal Badoli claimed he would get her a government job due to his top-level connections. The two allegedly made her drink alcohol and then began molesting her. Upon protesting, they reportedly threatened to kill her, and later both of them raped her forcefully. They also allegedly took photos and videos of the incident.
On the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case against Mohan Lal Badoli and Rocky Mittal under sections 376-D and 506. Investigating Officer Dhanveer stated that the case has been registered and the investigation is ongoing. The woman has made allegations of sexual exploitation, in which Mohan Lal Badoli has also been named.
In response to the rape allegations, Mohan Lal Badoli stated that this was a political stunt and that the entire case was fabricated to tarnish his clean image. He denied the allegations, claiming they had no basis in reality. He further urged the media not to give importance to these false allegations, as they were solely aimed at defaming him in public.
