Himachal Pradesh registered 76 per cent polling in the state as the Doon assembly constituency in Solan district recorded the highest around 85.2 pc poll, and Shimla urban 62.5 PC informed an election commission spokesperson said in a press release. EVMs could be sealed in 100 polling stations till late evening as voting continued till 9 pm due to the long queue of voters, which could be seen outside many polling stations after the scheduled timing ended at 5 pm.
Polling was peaceful and conducted efficiently without any significant snag, and turnout was very high in those assemblies where contestants were in tough combat.
The ECI said that in 68 assemblies, around 74 pc turnout was achieved, and two per cent by the postal ballet, maybe, likely to increase till counting votes on December 8.
Shilai in Siramaur registers around 84 pc. In the district, Nahan recorded 79.25 pc polling, Renuka and Pachaaad 78 pc, and Paonta 75 pc.
Solan district Doon recorded 85 pc, Nalagarh and Kasauli 78 pc, Arki 75 pc and Solan 66 pc.
In Nainadevi of Bilaspur 80 pc, Bilaspur Sadar 75 pc, Jhanduta 73.6 pc and Ghumarwin 73 pc.
Seraj of Mandi 82 pc, Nachan 79 pc, Sundernagar 77.37 pc, Balh 77 pc, Darang and Karsog 76.50 pc, Mandi 74 pc, Dharmpur 70.51 pc, Joginder 69 pc and Sarkaghat 68 pc.
Gagret and Haroli 78 pc, Una 77 pc, Kutlehar 76 pc and Chintpurni 73.1, Churah in Chamba 78.20 pc, Dalhousie 74.67 pc, Bhaityat 72.25 pc, Bharmour 70 pc and Chamba Sadar 69.5 pc.
In Kangra district Nagrota 76 pc, Nurpur and Kangra 74.5 pc, Jaswana Pragpur, Shahpur, and Jawalamukhi 73 pc, Jawali 72.5 pc, Indora and Palampur 72 pc, Sulah, Fathepur and Dehra 70 pc, Dharmshala 68.5 pc, Jaisinghpur 65 pc and Baijnath 63 .21 pc.
Jubbal-Kotkhai recorded 78 pc, Theog 74.5 pc, Chopal 74 pc, Shimla 72.5 pc Rampur and Rohru 72 pc, Kasumpti 67 and Shimla rural 62.5 pc.
In Kullu district, 79 pc in Manali, Banjar 77 pc, Kullu district 74.5 pc and Ani 73.89 pc, Nadaun and Sujanpur 73 pc, Hamirpur and Badsar 71 pc and Bhoranj 68 pc. Lahaul Spiti 73.9 pc, and Kinnaur recorded 70.5 pc polling.
