Shimla, Nov 10,
Himachal Pradesh is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures as winter sets in. The state is currently enveloped in a dense fog, particularly in Bilaspur and Mandi.
Temperatures have plummeted, with Tabo recording a chilling -3.7°C, Kalpa at 4.1°C, and Keylong at 2.1°C. While popular tourist destinations like Shimla, Manali, and Dharamshala are attracting visitors with their clear daytime skies, the sudden drop in nighttime temperatures and dense fog pose risks to travelers.
Authorities advise caution, especially during late-night and early-morning travel. The dry weather has improved road conditions, but the fog is causing delays in transportation, particularly near the Beas and Satluj rivers.
The IMD forecasts a continuation of dry weather with isolated fog in the coming days.
As temperatures further decline, the state can expect more intense fog and colder nights. Residents and tourists are advised to stay informed about weather updates, dress warmly, and drive cautiously, especially in foggy conditions.
