Lakhimpur farmer killings should be remembered by the farmers of the state while going to poll in the upcoming bye elections, stated Himachal Pradesh Kisan Sabha announcing associates to boycott the ruling party candidates.
In a press statement issued here today, President of HKS Dr Kuldeeep Singh Tanwar said that farmers would vent out their wrath against anti-farmer policies of the Union and State Government as the duo are bent upon enforcing farmers policies and laws to help the big cooperative houses.
Farmers who were promised double income by Modi Government are now feeling cheated whereby incomes instead came down rumbling. The farmers in the country and the state are already boycotting ruling party leaders and the Bhuntar Airport fiasco recently exposed it, as a scuffle also took between senior police officer of the Jai Ram Government on the issue.
Kisan Sabha urged all the farmers to not support the Ruling party candidates in all the three assemblies and Mandi Parliamentary. They state that the BJP is anti farmers and is indulged in repression against them, Dr. Tanwar said reminding the farmers of the recent Lakhimpur gory crime of killing of four protesting farmers by the to convoy of the Union minister’s son.
Moreover, farmers in the state would not support the ruling BJP candidates as the government did not address issues of Apple, Tomato, Maize, and Paddy growers. Besides the ruling party is standing with market forces including middlemen and big corporate houses.
” HKS is taking part in the National level protest lodged by farmer unions under the banner of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha would not support the candidates of the ruling BJP. The so-called double engine government has increased attacks on the farmers and common man twofold. alleged Tanwar.
Farmers engaged in the Apple, Tomato, Maize, and Paddy cultivation are not getting remunerative prices and common man and consumers are facing extreme inflation. Dr. Tanwar alleged that the union government came out with new three farm laws to help the corporations who want to grab the landholding of farmers whereas the crops being produced by the farmers are not getting the prices to produce.
Talking about the assembly segments under Bye-election fever, he said that farmers belonging to Jubbal Kotkahi did not get the remunerative prices of Apples even after being the highest producers of the same. The apple growers had to suffer in this season owing to the crashing of the market under the monopoly of corporate houses and natural and weather vagaries. The ruling Jai Ram Government neither provided any relief to farmers instead of natural losses, neither could they contain the crashing of apple markets and the falling of prices.
He added that paddy farmers of the Fatehpur assembly segment including the Mandi region are still facing the crisis of the market as the Government could provide only three procurement centers in place of five to buy their crops on the minimum support price.
Tanwar said that BJP also has to face the wrath of farmers of Fatehpur another area undergoing bye-election as farmers here were not extended the paddy procurement center as announced by the State Government forcing them to sell their crops in Punjab in the open market.
He said off seasonal farmers from Arki Assembly have suffered in the Kharif Tomato season as they did not get the remunerative prices. The growers had to sell their produce at the rate of Rs 100 to Rs 200 per crate. Lacs of farmers in this region of Solan district has suffered as farmers were supplied the spurious seed.
Even in Mandi parliamentary segments, farmers are facing burning issues of lack of good prices for Apple, Off seasonal vegetable, Paddy and Maize moreover a number of farmers have started the movement to oppose the acquisition of land for four lanes and the airport.
The fertile land of the Balh area is being forcibly acquired by the Jai Ram Government to develop an international airport by displacing thousands of farmers who are up in arms against the move and would oppose and boycott the BJP candidate in the Parliamentary election.
