Shimla, May 4
When most of states are complaining about short collection of revenue owing to Covid restriction and partial lockdown this hill state recorded eight time increase in the collection.
The excise and taxation department of Himachal Pradesh collected a revenue of Rs 642 crore in the month of April this year which was more than eight times the revenue collected in the same month last year, the state government said here on Monday.
The revenue collected this April was also nine percent more as
compared to that in April 2019, and the department registered its highest-ever Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection of Rs 429 crore this April, a government statement said.
Government is trying to create more revenue as it spending beyond its means on the top heavy establishment. State coffer is under huge debt burden tunes to Rs 65000Cr.
