Himachal Pradesh High Court today passed an order to restrain the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board Dharmshala from declaring merit of the Metric examination however it did not stay the result likely to be announced by the board today.
The order passed by the Division bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ravi Kumar Malimath and Justice Joyotsana Raval Dua on a writ petition directed the board to give an opportunity to the students who could not give examination due to Covid -19 earlier, to appear in the exam again.
The court has allowed to declare the result of the Tenth examination however it said that the merit list should not be declared until examination would not be conducted for the left out students and the collective merit list should be declared after the same.
The court fixing next date of hearing in the case on July 7, 2021 allowed the board to declare the metric results of those who appeared earlier.
A civil Writ Petition was moved recently by a person namely Ojaswin Mahajan son of Vivek Mahajan resident of Ward no-9 of Sujjanpur-Tira of Hamirpur district seeking not to announce the ten class results.
After hearing the both parties the Court passed an order that the board would declare results without declaring the merit list which should be declared later giving opportunity to let out students who could not appear.
