Shimla, Sept. 3 Ritanjali Hastir
With the revised recruitment of sportsperson in the Government of India, a new vista has been opened for the winter sports lover not only in Shimla, but all over. Finally, Winter sports in the country seem to have been recognized being more than merely time-killing activity in the season when everything seems to stand still.
As per Pankaj Prabhaker, Speed Skating Coach Simla Ice Skating Club, and two times National Champion, “It is a great moment for people like us who have been associated with winter sports from so long. Even though efforts were being made to get recognition from a long time but finally it has paid off. Now youth will be more interested in taking winter sports more seriously as they can see job opportunities in the future.”
In the year 2013 Department of Personnel & Training Office Memorandum issued incentives for the recruitment of meritorious sportsperson.
