Una & Solan districts witness sweltering heatwave

As South West Monsoon continues to be invisible in the state since last one week, the same is increasing sweltering heat wave also. The Maximum temperature of Una was 42. 5 degrees Celsius and Shimla recorded the warmest in this season.
The Met Office said that Heat wave was observed in the districts, Solan and una and would continue for next 24 hrs. The Maximum temperature was two to three degree above normal as Una sizzled at 42.5 degrees on Thursday which was seven degrees above normal.
Maximum temperature of Shimla was 28.6 degrees and five degrees above normal and highest Maximum temperature of this year. Sundernagar in Mandi was high at 36 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 35.3 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar 26.5 degrees, Dharmshala in Kangra 32.4 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur 34.5 degrees, Keylong in Lahaul Spiti 22.2 degrees and Palampur in Kangra .
Solan 35.5 degrees, Manali 28.4 degrees, Kangra 36.8 degrees, Mandi 36.2 degrees, Bilaspur 37.5 degrees, Hamirpur 36.2 degrees, Chamba 35.8 degrees, Dalhousie 24 degrees and Kufri 22 degrees and Jubbarhatti 31.5 degrees.
The Met Office sounded a yellow warning for Thunderstorm , lightening and gusty winds with speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in the mid and foot hills of the state from next three days.
Met Office said that South West Monsoon is likely to become normal with rain and thunderstorm in many places in the mid and foot hills and few places in the high reaches. The inclement weather is likely to last till July 4 .
