The new morbidity conditions which is leading to the demise of many victims of Covid are Pneumonia and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Diseases Syndrome), co-morbid conditions.
The increasing deaths of Covid victims could be attributed to various other co-morbid conditions in which perhaps, Pneumonia
aggravated the fatality which is an alarm bell for the fatigued hospital authority and staff.
”Until front-line health workers do not get first shot of Covid vaccine they cannot assure good treatment for the pandemic without risking their lives,’ said a senior citizen.
A businessman termed the state Government intervention, a half cooked measure. He said that “What is the use of night curfew between 2000 hrs to 0600 hrs in the extreme winters, moreover social distancing is a mere joke when the state Government is allowing 200 people in a social gathering ” he added.
Jai Ram Thakur Government could not handle the Covid situation effectively as despite of second wave of Covid in the state where are the five COVID hospital announced by him questioned Rakesh Sharam local resident of Shimla , adding that DDU, IGMC and other health hospitals which are also meant for Trauma centers and other health facility are virtually filled up with Covid patients now.
The people who have suffered and recovered have harrowing experiences how the patients suffering with Covid are being treated, he said.
The common man who has the last hope of their lives in the state dedicated care centers are reflecting a gloomy picture of the health services being rendered to them.
The experiences of Ministers and MLAs who have undergone COVID treatments are also worrisome despite most of them keeping mum.
Sandeep Sharma a local resident told that no senior functionary of the government has ever made attempt to come down to ground zero to look after the victims and review the health services being rendered to them in last ten months.
Roop Ram Verma, another senior citizen informs that the state is facing pall of sorrow, negativity and resentments since the Covid victims who could not survive are being made bee lines in the mortuaries or in the crematoria to have their turns. It is not respectful departure when Most senior citizens are being given scary and unceremonious departures from this world.
A local resident Suresh Verma said that he was shocked when administration directed him to finish last rites of an old lady who had died natural death to fire with in three to four hours. “The officials asked me to assure the cremation by noon as four Covid deceased are in waiting to brought to the crematorium.”
No popular Government could make the life of people so miserable as deceased bodies have to wait in the
mortuaries for hours. The Government could have at least built up a few crematoriums if it could not build Covid dedicated centers, an Officer said on the condition of anonymity .
Now the Covid situation in the state is among the worst hit in the country as it is spreading in many districts very fast and has even entered in the remote villages of the state. Thanks for allowing of marriage, retirement and social gathering among others as the cases are spreading like wild fire .
Moreover most of the violations in social distancing is being noted among those who are sitting in the first row of ruling party .
Besides looking at the current situation it becomes evident that a wrong message was conveyed to people by conducting mega events in the state right from mega celebrations of Rohtang Tunnel, to Opening of schools, to launching various schemes in funfare, allowing tourists and organizing the Jan manch. So much and forth without taking expert opinion, lamented many other citizens.
