Shimla, Dec 17
The Municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats poll shall be held on January 10 2021, stated a notification by State election commission. In a notification issued here the Chief Election commissioner stated that model code of conduct shall be enforced with effect from today. However the notification excludes the newly formed Nagar Panchayats by the government recently.
The dates for filling of nomination papers shall be 24th, 26th and 28th of December. The same shall be scrutinized on December 29 and candidates are allowed to withdraw till December 31st last day of the year. “Polling if necessary shall be held on January 10, 2021,” stated the notification.
Counting shall be started immediately after completion of poll process and the entire election process will be wrapped up January 12 next year, stated the election commission.
