Shimla, Sept 28
After giving shock-waves to the grand old party by joining BJP, former working president of the party Harsh Mahajan has now launched a full- blown attack on his old party. He stated that after the demise of six time Chief Minister Virbhdra Singh, the party has been reduced to shambles, with neither leadership nor credibility. “There is no cadre, infighting is at an all time high, groupism is the order of the day,” he added. The youth is demoralised and disillusioned, with no direction at State, District or Constituency levels.
He said a clear sign sign of organisational weakness can adjudged from the fact that a super jumbo Congress Committee of over 500 office bearers has been appointed – with over half of the members being non-entities.
He alleged that one section of the state leadership is today, actually busy ‘selling’ party posts and tickets. Opportunistic and exposed as such, with no leader of any stature remaining, the party has lost its entire identity and its credibility with the people of the state.” I am repulsed to see the state of the party affairs at all levels. I know that the party
does not have the people’s welfare in mind anymore and is no longer capable of
providing a competent government,” he stated.
He added that at the National level, the Congress Party stands directionless and lacking in vision, faced with a crisis of leadership, tainted by sycophancy and corruption. There is no connect with the pulse of India, and the party, shamefully, lacks a cadre which it used to have. The noisy party president’s election is a complete farce, being conducted behind closed doors. The electoral collegium is rigged and the election is thereby laughable, he stated.
” The party that my father proudly joined and served throughout his life as have I after him, stands completely demolished. Only time-servers and courtiers have remained,” commented the formed cabinet Minister.

” Therefore, in grief and disgust, I am compelled to leave the morass that the Congress party has become,” concluded the three time MLA while praising PM Modi for strong, decisive and dynamic leadership to the BJP.
Earlier during the day Mahajan had joined the Saffron party at new Delhi in presence of senior BJP leaders.
