Putting a rest to speculations over the formation of a new district(s) in the State the government has stated that there are no such plans. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur replying to a nonverbal query in the state assembly on Tuesday said that no new districts are being planned.
Raising a joint query couple of opposition members wanted to know if any new districts are being carved in the state by the Jai Ram Government and if yes, then how many new districts are being planned and where.
Replying to this written query of Congress member Asha Kumari and Opposition Leader Mukesh Agnihotri, Chief Minister stated that there is no proposal of reorganization of any new district. He said that though various proposals have been received from sources for the same but no commission was constituted for the creation of any district. Currently, Himachal Pradesh has 12 districts
