The state police have identified 333 people of Tablighi Jamaat and other Muslim sects who had either visited Delhi or any other states in the past few days, stated a note by Dr Khushal Sharma, Superintendent of Police (law & Order). Adding that out of the 333 identified people 172 had attended the ‘Markaj’ during different dates of March. “Besides the police have also identified 88 other persons, who had come in direct contact with these Tablighi Jamat people, which includes members of their family too,” he added.
He said the state police have registered 20 FIRs on 97 people of the Tablighi Jamaat. One each in Kangra and Chamba, two each in Bilaspur, Sirmour and Baddi, three in Shimla, four in Mandi, and five FIRs have been registered in Una district, he informed. He said that till date for defiance of curfew 494 cases have been registered on 433 people.
