Eyeing the upcoming tourist season in August, Shimla hoteliers are gearing to open hotels shortly. Mohinder Seth of the Tourism industry stake holders association informed that about 30 members of the association have already opened their hotels and another 100 members are preparing to open by the end of July. “The members of our association are looking forward to prepare themselves before coming tourist season,” he stated.
For the purpose the association is organizing online COVID 19 awareness and training for the owners as well as for staff of hotels and restaurants in collaboration with FSSAI approved company Quality Services and Training pvt Ltd. He said that the training and awareness program is especially designed by FSSAI for hotels & Restaurants. The participants attending this training will get FOSTAC certificate from FSSAI. The training will be given by the professional trainers online on 29th July 2020 to more than 100 participants. Adding, that 71 staff members of different hotels have already done this training successfully last week.
Seth stated that the main objective of the training is to educate hotel managements (Staff, owners, employees, etc) about the safety measures required during the stay of tourists in the hotels or while serving in the restaurants. “The primary objective is to build confidence among-st staff/owners, to prepare establishments keeping in mind the safety of staff, tourists,and public at large.
He said that the Association has already circulated the Covid-19 guidelines,checklist, posters, stationary, etc required to be displayed in hotels as per the SOPs issued by the Government. Adding that, the association is also preparing power point presentation in Hindi to educate the staff about the precautions to be taken while serving guests.
