Former Speaker and Ex-BJP president Rajiv Bindal defending himself denies allegation, leveled by the CPI(M) legislator. Rakesh Singha the leftist MLA had alleged a recruitment scam pertaining to appointment of six State Vidhan Sabha Secretariat staff members while he was speaker.
In a rebuttal issued over the allegation made, Bindal said that all charges leveled at him were politically motivated having no iota of truth in them. Terming the move ‘hatching a political conspiracy’ against him, Bindal said that CPI(M) member charges are either unfounded or merely to get political mileage out of it.
He said that the move was staged only to create illusion in the minds of people. Stating, that all recruitment made in the state assembly was done following due process and no recruitment rules were violated. Also, that none of his relative was given posting as officer or employee during tenure as speaker of state assembly.
It is worthwhile to mention that the allegation by CPI(M) MLA is the second controversy for the former speaker in the last couple of months. Earlier Bindal had to tender resignation reportedly under the pressure of party high command after surfacing of a PPE kit scam which was being probed by state Vigilance and Anti Corruption department.
Though the state investigation agency had not named Bindal as party in the scam.Yet, he tendered resignation from state BJP president post last month citing high moral ground attributing to the fact that a man booked in a bribe case belonged to ruling BJP and was employee of company Apex diagnostic Solan which belonged to his daughter.
