Shimla Parwanoo NH-5 shutdown for vehicular traffic

The Hindustan Tibet National Highway -5 between Parwanoo and Shimla is closed for vehicular traffic after landslide near Shimla and caving in of road near Chakimod between Kummarhati Dharmpur in Solan district today.
On Friday night the National Highway No.5 has been completely closed for traffic due to landslide near Sonu Bungalow between Taradevi to Shoghi at around 1935 hrs.
According to Police control room Shimla Police post staff from Shoghi was on the spot. Heavy machinery is deployed to open the road. The police suggest taking alternative route via Mehli to reach Shoghi.
Earlier on Friday vehicular traffic was diverted via Kummarhati to Nahan-Panchkula and between Chandigarh- Nalagarh-Kunihar & Shimla for heavy vehicles and Solan- Kummarhati Dharmpur for light vehicle.
Vehicular traffic was opened on Wednesday between Parwanoo to Dharampur on NH-5 but highway had to be shutdown by Friday afternoon police officer informed.
