
Shoolini University retains top spot among India’s Private Universities in QS World Rankings 2026

Shoolini University has once again emerged as India’s highest-ranked private university in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2026, released by global higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
The university has registered a significant improvement in its global standing, climbing to the 503rd position from 587th last year among 1,501 institutions ranked worldwide. The latest rankings also place Shoolini University at the 11th position among all Indian universities, an improvement from its 14th rank in 2025.
The achievement reinforces the Solan-based institution’s growing international reputation and its emphasis on academic excellence, innovation and high-quality research. Despite increasing global competition, the university has maintained its position as the highest-ranked private university in the country.
A major highlight of this year’s rankings is Shoolini University’s performance in the Citations per Faculty indicator, a key measure of research impact and academic influence. The university secured the 138th position globally in this category, making it the leading private university in India in terms of research excellence.
Founder and Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof. P.K. Khosla, said the university’s continued rise in global rankings reflects the strong academic and research culture built over the years. He said the recognition validates the institution’s commitment to delivering world-class education and conducting impactful research while strengthening its international presence.
