Sanyukat Kissan Morcha unit of Himachal Pradesh have decided to boycott BJP candidates in the bye election to be held on October 30, appealing the farmers and local people to not vote for the ruling party candidate.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club Shimla on the issues of three farmers laws passed by the centre Goverment SKM state convener Aninder Singh Notty said that 11 months have passed for thousands of farmers from 28 states and union territories while protesting but the BJP government is hell bent upon to not consider their demands.
“Five Farmers were crushed to death by son of Union minister for state at Lakhimpur Kheri in UP, 750 Protesting Farmers were killed due to vagaries like bone chilling coldwave, atrocities being lashed by heatwave, rain and repression of police and BJP workers” he said.
Farmer leader Chaudhary Rakesh Taiket had shown the strength of farmers unity, recently in West Bengal polls when they launched campaign ‘ vote par chot'(hit the vote) against the candidate of BJP. On similar lines we give clarion call to the Farmers of Himachal Pradesh to turn up in large numbers to show their resentment against the ruling BJP by not voting for its candidate.
He said that farmers in thousands extended their support to the national level movement which is now being considered the longest revolutionary movement of farmers in the world.
He said that SKM have been successful to boycott the products and services offered by corporate house Adani and good response was garnered from Himachal Pradesh as even, Horticulture Minister Mohinder Singh Thakur was cordoned at Theog and a massive tractor rally was held in Nalagarh of Solan, Poanta-Sahib in Sirmaur and Nurpur in Kangra district.
Mand region of Kangra district known for paddy cultivation also registered strong protest by farmers as Fatehpur BJP candidate Baldev Thakur was boycotted for failing to provide MSP for their produces. As a result now farmers were not allowing the BJP candidate to enter in many Panchayats and villages of Fatehpur for canvassing.
He said that three Apple growers and farmer from Kotgargh were killed in firing under Shanta Kumar Goverment of BJP on 26 July 1990 . The BJP wouldn’t succeed in winning Mandi , Arki, Jubbal Kotkhai and Fatepur Assembly bye Election without vote of farmers.
The SKM leader added that by not voting for BJP a tribute shall be paid to those farmers who were killed during agitations at Kotgargh, Lakhimpur Kheri and Dehli border.
