Southwest Monsoon remains confined to isolates places in Himachal Pradesh, Mercury hits Highs

The South West Monsoon rain continues to evade most areas in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, with precipitation limited to isolated pockets. Moreover, the day temperatures across the state remained high.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Nahan in Sirmaur district received 49 mm of rainfall, followed by Sarhali Khud in Bilaspur, which recorded 32.4 mm of rain. Berthin in Bilaspur received 23.5 mm of precipitation, while the tourist resort of Narkanda saw nine mm of rainfall. Light rainfall was also reported in other tourist destinations such as Manali and Kufri in the state.
Monsoon activities are expected to remain somewhat subdued, with scattered light rainfall forecasted in a few areas along the Beas and Satluj catchment regions in the state. The presence of thick fog and low clouds may impact visibility conditions and air transportation in the state, as the sky remained predominantly cloudy.
The minimum temperature in Keylong, Lahaul Spiti, dropped to a chilly 11.3 degrees Celsius, while Paonta Sahib recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 37 degrees Celsius.
The IMD anticipates light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours. However, the monsoon activity is expected to intensify between September 14 and 16, with a yellow alert issued for the region. Nevertheless, no significant changes in the current weather conditions are anticipated in the next 24 hours.
