Shimla, Feb 2
Three different light intensity to moderate tremors were recorded in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Earthquakes measuring 2.5 to three jolted part of Kangra, Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti districts informed the Indian Meterogical Department.
Spokesperson of Shimla Met Office said first tremor was measured 2.70 on Richter scale was felt at 1154 hrs on Wednesday and the epicenter was located at 32.47 degrees North , 76.22 degrees East and five km in Lahaul-Spiti district about 49 km from North tourist town Manali and 157 km from state capital Shimla.
The second tremor was felt at 1202 hrs in parts of Kangra district. The magnitude of Earthquake was 2.50 on the Richter scale and epicenter was at Kuranh in Dhauladhar ranges between Chamba and Kangra district located about 30 km away from Dharmshala and 200 km from State capital Shimla.
The Met spokes person added that third tremor measuring three on the Richter scale was felt at 1606hrs on the same day and epicenter was located at 32.64 degrees North and 77.49 degrees East and 12 km deep and 59 km from North East of Manali and 177 km from state capital Shimla.
Tremors were felt by people but did not cause any loss to life and property.
