Shimla, Oct 24
Three tourist died in kinnaur district when they were coming to Sangla from Janglik of Shimla district on Sunday informed Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Apoorva Devgan here today.
He said that as many 13 tourists were coming from Janglik of Rohru in Shimla district to Sangla via Barua Kande in Kinnaur district when three of them died on their way due to adverse weather conditions and snowfall.
As soon as the information is received, relief and rescue work has been started by the District Administration Kinnaur.
A police team has been sent to Barua Kande to rescue 10 tourists by the District Administration and by this evening all the 10 tourists would be safely evacuated and brought to Karcham.
A team of ITBP personnel has been sent to the spot to bring the three bodies. The cause of death was not immediately confirmed however they are expected to havr died due to high altitude sickness and hypothermia.
According to the information received in the district headquarters, all these tourists belonged to Mumbai and Goa.They also include a woman.
Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan has urged all the tourists and others coming to the district not to visit the high places, peaks and gorges of the district due to bad weather and snowfall in order to avoid any untoward incident.
He has also urged the residents of the district to come out of the house only if it is absolutely necessary and take precautions during this time as there is a danger of shooting stones due to rain.
