A wailing woman who lost her husband at the age of 51 yrs due to Corona at Indira Gandhi
Medical College Hospital Shimla recently attributed the death owing to negligent health services in the hospital.
A video is circulating in the social media in which a wailing woman who lost her husband during treatment of Covid at IGMC Shimla alleged that despite sharp decline in the Saturation level of Oxygen the duty staff did not provide Oxygen to the patient and he died suffocating in the hospital wards. Woman said that no senior doctors are visiting the patients when they were in Trauma.
Countering the allegations made by the affected woman Sr Medical Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj said that investigation was done by the hospital and allegations made by the woman are not true.
This is not first instance when such allegations is being made against the services rendered by the hospital but an earlier number of people complained about the negligence in the health services. All the ventilators and Oxygen beds remain occupied in the Hospital however according to authority there is no dearth of oxygen in the Hospital.
CPI(M) legislator from Theog Rakesh Singha has also raised suspicion over the provisions of oxygenated beds and quality of health services rendered by the hospital administration at the time of Pandemic. Singha said that before the nose of Government hospital services toward Covid patients are questionable and people’s lives should have been saved.
