Shimla, May 26 at 2135 hours
Himachal Pradesh has recorded 24 more cases of Covid 19 on Tuesday as 15 cases were traced in Hamirpur district, 3 each in Shimla and Kangra, 2 in Chamba and 1 in Una confirmed a senior Officer of Government.
Additional Chief Secretary Health and Nodal Officer R D Dhiman said that 24 new cases were traced in the state in last 24 hrs.
With this total number of COVID-19 postive cases increased to 247 in the state including 175 active and 59 recovered and six deaths.
With the detection of 15 new Corona positive cases today, the total such cases in Hamirpur district has risen to 78. Thus, there are 71 active positive cases in the district, six have gone home fully cured and one dead.
Deputy Commissioner, Harikesh Meena said that the four persons detected in the morning hours including a woman had returned in rail from Thane (Maharashtra) to Hamirpur and were under the Institutional Quarantine at Government College, Baru and Darkoti respectively.
These found positive are : a 54 years old man from Terti village, a taxi driver aged 44 years from Nadaun, a 65 years old woman from Nadaun and another 49 year old person from Jhareri village of Nadaun area of the district.
Those found positive in the second list included a 49-year-old man from Jhanayara, a 45-year-old man from Dhanghota, a 50-year-old man from Telhi and a 26-year-old woman from Kashmir village of Nadaun region respectively and were under Institutional quarantine at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Dungri (Hamirpur).
Meena said that all these 8 persons would be sent to Covid centers in the district for isolation and treatment. However details of 7 others tested positive in the evening list are yet awaited.
Indra Gandhi Medical College Hospital Shimla Senior Medical Officer Dr Janak Raj said that 3 tested positive for SARS-COV-2 in Shimla.
With this case total number of COVID-19 positive cases increased to 9 in the district including 7 active cases.
A man who returned from Pune on May 19 was in institutional quarantine HPPCL guest House Sandasu belonged to Chirgaon area of the district.The second is aged 18 yrs, came on 18 May from Mumbai by train, was in IQ at Deha and third aged 19 years, came from Mumbai on the same day belongs to Chopal was in IQ at Deha.
The previous tests of the 2 patients in Deha were inconclusive and hence were done again, informed officials. All being shifted to PRTI Mashobra.Contact is tracing being done, they added.
As per an order entire area around HPPCL guest House of Sandasu has been sealed by the Sub divisional Magistrate Rohru B R Sharma.
Dhiman said that one case also traced in Una district rising number of cases to 31 with 14 active cases and 17 people have recovered in the district.
In Chamba 2 more tested positive taking tally of district to 20 and nine active cases.
Also Kangra recorded 3 fresh cases today. The total cases here are now 62 with 45 active till date.
In the state six people had been died of COVID-19 pandemic so far as tally is increasing.
