To reduce the footfall and congestion of consumers in Public Distribution System outlets in the state owing to sudden surge in Covid pandemic govt today decided to modify timing of opening, closing and weekly offs w.e.f from today. A spokesperson of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department informed here today.
The PDS or fair price outlets would remain open from 1000 to 1300 hrs & 1400 to 1700hrs moreover shops would also remain open from 0930 to 1830 hrs on Sunday (upto 1800 hrs in winter). The Fair Price Shops would remain closed on every Monday. New timing would be displayed on the board-display in all the premises. Fair price shop could be closed under unavoidable circumstances only, after displaying reasons on the notice board for the information of general consumers and would also give prior and proper intimation about the reasons for closure to concerned Inspector, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs or the concerned District Controller.
