After record snowfall life struggling to get back to normal in capital Shimla. Baring hospital, MC, police and Electricity all others Services have become paralyzed in the capital town after 24hrs long Snowfall. Normal life is standing still and all roads are snowbound.
Power supply remained off in most places of Sanjauli, Chotta Shimla, Jakhu, Lakkar bazar and many places. Uprooting of trees and knocking down of branches snapped power supply in many places of the town. Besides even the Electricity department has cut down power supply in order to restore it on the war footing.
Two feet high blanket of snow is covering the trees, roofs, dales, hills and valleys beside road and streets.
Employees, doctors, paramedical staff, police Jawan, Employees of MC, IPH and Electricity department have to brave the slippery snowy roads and cold to reach their destination on foot. No vehicles are plying in the Shimla town and highland area due to mounting 60 to 70 cm thick snow on the road.
Restoration work could not yield any result as it snowing till night. Thick sheet of frost due to night temperature hardened the snow on the streets and roads making it extremely hard and slippery to walk on it. Besides driving in such conditions can be very dangerous.
Normal life also remained paralyzed as most people did not come out of their homes and beds to avoid facing snow vagaries due of lack of power and water supply.
Even social media is less buzzing as most mobiles have been switched off without power.
Even milk, bread others diary products, fruit and vegetables could not made to the town and other places after crippling vehicular traffic.
Uprooting of many trees and branches of Deodar and other trees also blocked the road at many places. Normal life is out of gears in the upper areas of the Shimla district.
In the state six National Highway and 270 others roads are snowbound which could not restored due to continue snow till early morning.
