Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to dedicated or commission newly constructed Atal Rohtang Tunnel to people on Oct 3, 2020 as the ambitious project to provide all weather connectivity between Manali to Leh.
While interacting with media persons here today Thakur said that according to Modi’s tentative program he would come to Manali on October for inaugurating the tunnel and scheduled to visit Lahaul valley after that.
After commissioning of this tunnel now the vehicular traffic would be diverted from Manali to Keylong and it would cut short about 46 km long distance as currently vehicular traffic plying between Manali to Keylong via 13050 high Rohtang Pass which remained off for vehicular traffic during the extreme winter and snowfall
The Chief Minister also stated that it is not yet clear if PM would address any public gathering on this occasion.
