After an overnight visit to Delhi, the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday said that no discussions took place with BJP central leadership over change in leadership of state’s Government.
He ridiculed the reports based on statements of Congress leaders that BJP has decided to change six chief ministers. Thakur said that during and before his recent visits to Delhi, there were political rumours about his ouster which had no bases.
Interacting with the media persons Thakur said, “There is no such issue or discussion during my visit to national capital and all speculations are cooked by his political adversaries.”
He added, “Congress leaders in the state during Jan Akrosh rally at Dhalpur ground in Kullu said that Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat are likely to go for poll next year together after change of the
Chief Ministers.
Congress leaders also speculated about reshuffle in the the state Cabinet fueling the rumors.
It is recalled that Congress leaders in state legislative assembly Mukesh Agnihotri and MLA
of rural Shimla Vikramaditya recently took on to Chief Minister Thakur’s quick visit to Delhi every now and then.
Thakur said that his meeting was pre-decided 25 days ago and he met senior party leaders including national BJP chief JP Nadda during his visit on
Tuesday. “During the meeting, discussions were held over 2022 assembly polls and by-elections to 3 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh.
Discussions were also held on the future roadmap of the state government vis a vis Swarn Jayanti celebrations of the statehood.
He claimed that he had constructive discussions with party leadership.
Thakur said he along with Speaker of Assembly Vipin Parmar visited Capital to invite the President of India to address a special session of HP assembly, which he had accorded gracefully.
In addition, a Swarnim Rath Yatra will be organized in all 68 assembly segments of the state to highlight the development journey of Himachal and role of all sections of the society amongst the people of the state, the Chief Minister said.
He also lauded CRI Kasauli lab where Johnson & Johnson’s Covid drug would be tested before to rollout on the world level beside this other labs and pharma houses are contributing to various level of Resarch and Development to tackle the Covid pandemic.
Sources in the BJP said that CM visit to National capital region is about the internal or intelligence reports which indicate that party’s performance would not be in favor in the all 17 assembly constituencies under Mandi parliamentary and three others assembly constituencies where the bye election is scheduled after the festival seasons.
Party could not afford to loose any of the seat in all 20 assembly segments as the bye-polll would be reflection of trends of one third of the state assembly seats. The BJP received set back in the Municipal Corporations elections as Congress won Solan and Palampur MC polls recently.
