The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited has reiterated the commitment of  reliable, continuous quality and proper power voltage power in the tribal areas of the state. Disclosing the information Ram Subhag Singh, Chairman and Additional Chief Secretary (Power ) said that achieving one more success in this direction, a 33 KV newly constructed line by the board has been connected to the 400/220/33 kV  sub-station lahal in tribal area Bharmour of Distt. Chamba. Having capacity of 315 mva, this 400/220/33 kv sub-station lahal has recently been completed by Himachal Pradesh Transmission Corporation  Ltd. at a cost of about Rs 263 crores and with the coming of this 400 kv lahaul sub-station, the power supply situation in Bharmour region will be further strengthened and on the other hand, it will help to take out the power produced from the region’s power projects and future projects.
Giving detailed information about the connecting arrangement of 33kv new line with the 400 kv sub-station lahaul, he informed that earlier power was supplied to the tribal areas of Bharmour through about a 53 km long , 33 kv power transmission line from kariyana sub –station situated just near the Distt. Headquarter chamba which was too long arrangement. Therefore due to reasons sometimes power supply of Bharmour region was effected, while the electrical voltage was also reduced. Now after this new arrangement, the 33 K.V. newly constructed  transmission line, about 3 km long from the sub-station, Dinaka (Bharmour) has been connected to  400 kv sub-station lahaul. A cost of about Rs 78 lakh has been incurred on the construction of this transmission line. Resulting this new arrangement , effective power supply will be available in tribal  Bharmour area and about 60 thousand people of the area will also get relief from the problem of low voltage. On the other hand, instead of 53 km long power transmission line to Bharmour region, availability of power supply through 3 km long transmission line will also reduce losses in power transmission and distribution. This new arrangement will also help in maintaining the electricity supply in Bharmour region during snow time also, he stressed.
Referring to other works to make power distribution system more powerful under  electrical division Chamba, he said that under this division from April 2020 till now, under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Jyoti Yojana , 0.540 km a new 33 KV electrical transmission line has been constructed. About 110.666 km HT and 86.211 km Long LT electrical lines have been constructed as well as 8.765 km. HT and 5.900 km Long LT lines have also been augmented. 776 LT and 115 wooden poles of HT have been replaced with steel poles. He said further that especially in Bharmour tribal region, 3 new power distribution sub-stations have been set up and 4 power distribution sub-stations have been augmented during the last 9 months. During the same time, 1.57 km long HT line and 0.88 km LT line have been constructed under Bharmour  electrical Sub-division along with augmentation of 3.35 km long LT line.
