Kuldeep Rathore, State president of the Congress said that it is that the fake degrees scandal in private universities clearly indicates that influential people can also be involved in this scandal. They have said that all the degrees issued by these universities should be investigated. Their recognition should be canceled while taking stringent action. In a statement issued here, Rathore has demanded to keep a close watch on the functioning of private institutions.
This morning a media reported fake degree scandal involving sale of 5 lakh degrees by two universities. The report came fore based based on a letter by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the authorities. In the letter the UGC has named a Manav Bharti university (MBU) and AP Goyal University (APG). Allegedly MBU has made good money by selling degrees of Open University for Complementary Medicine, Sri Lanka, by printing these degrees without the knowledge of owner of the university. Â The letter further indicated that the APG University did not sell degrees this year but had sold more than 15,000 fake degrees in the past.
