Shimla, Nov 17
Sirmaur Police successfully solved the theft attempt case of UCO Bank, Narag in Pachhad tehsil of the district, arresting all five accused involved and wanted in the case.
A press release issued by the state police said that during the intervening night of 8 & 9 November, 2020, criminals wearing masks broke open the locks of UCO Bank, Narag and attempted to cut open the cash chest by using battery-operated cutter however, the attempt was not successful.
On this case FIR was filed on Nov 9 under section 457, 380, 511, 34 IPC registered in Police Station Pachhad. The investigation had been case assigned to SIT headed by Sub-divisional Police Officer Bhisham Thakur. Based on electronic & digital evidence, cellphone analytics and physical evidence, the SIT arrested five accused on 14 November, 2020 who are currently in police remand up to 19 November, 2020.
All the five accused are identified as Ankush, Varun, Sachin, Subhash & Dinesh are from Pachhad Tehsil of Sirmaur district. Police also recovered and seized cutter, face mask, broken locks, shoes, track-suit, helmets, two motorcycles used by the accused from their possession.
The accused are also involved in five cases under various criminal offences and already booked under sections of IPC.
