Ruling BJP in Himachal Pradesh will be relying on the green horns or novices against the tough challenge from opposition Congress for Mandi Parliamentary, Jubbal Kotkhai, Fetehpur and Arki Assembly constituency bye election scheduled to be held on October 30.
Party former spokesperson Ganesh Dutt confirmed that Brigadier Khushal Thakur who participated in Kargil Vijay Operation is to be the party candidate against former MP and widow of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh from Mandi Lok Sabha Pratibha Singh.
Brigadier Khushal Thakur is likely to file his nomination papers today, at Mandi as October 8 is last date of filling nomination, Dutt confirmed.
Party also is relying on the woman candidate, Neelam Saraik, former Zila Parishad member and Poltical adversaries of former MLA late Narendra Bragta for Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly constituency against four times former MLA Rohit Thakur.
Party has decided to field a Zila Parishad member Baldev Thakur for Fetehpur Assembly seat against the Bhawani Singh Pathania son of former Congress and sitting MLA late Sujjan Singh Pathania.
The saffron party again, has decided to test former candidate Rattan Pall who had lost to former chief minister late Virbhadra Singh in 2017 Assembly Election for Arki Assembly. Congress party had also put Rajinder Awasthi in place of Virbhadra Singh from this seat.
Earlier to this BJP was in hold of Mandi LS and Jubbal Kotkhai seat whereas Fatepur and Arki were with Congress party.
