Shimla, April 26
National Capital Region which was facing acute shortage of Oxygen due to the Covid-19 crisis, will get help from the hill state. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on the request of Chief Minister of New Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has agreed to arrange emergency supplies of oxygen from Himachal Pradesh to New Delhi.
In a letter written to his counterpart of New Delhi, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State of Himachal Pradesh was highly concerned about the situation emerging in New Delhi and would be more than happy to extend all possible help to Delhi Government. He said that the officers of New Delhi Government may contact Additional Director of Industries for arranging the supplies of Oxygen from the State.
Chief Minister Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has expressed his gratitude towards Government of Himachal Pradesh for their generosity.
Pertinent to mention that our of the four Oxygen plants in the state, currently only 1 is operational. Reportedly, the oxygen plants at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala is the only plant of the State government in working condition. However the industrial belts of the state has number of operational industrial oxygen production units.
