Normal life is out of gear in the Shimla district due to intermittent rain and snow on the high reaches including Hindustan Tibet National Highway many roads are closed after mounting of snow making them slippery. District spokesperson said that most of places are raining intermittently since early morning and high reaches received snow which is continuing, while filing this report.
Tourist resort Narkanda had ten cm Snowfall (3/4 inch) and vehicular traffic was diverted  via Basantpur and Sunni on Hindustan Tibet National Highway. Light Snowfall, so far is also recorded in tourist resort Kufri.
In Jakhri area of Rampurin Shimla it is raining and light snowfall occurred in the high altitude areas. However traffic was going on smoothly.  Under Rohru Subdivision of district Snowfall continuing at Sungri as approximately three cm snow has mounted here.
Snowfall continues at Charike Khirki, Chaambi under Nerwa and Chopal region of district, is approximately seven cm.
Report arriving here till this afternoon said that 200 hundreds roads including four National Highways and one state highway has become snowbound in the state including NH-5, NH- 305 (Jalori pass) NH- 03 (Rohtang Pass and  Darcha to Sarchu), NH-505 ( Gramphu to Lossar).
In sub division Lahaul 86 link road are snow affected, 48 in  Udaipur of Lahaul Spiti district 43 in Subdivision Pangi, ten in Chamba, seven Tissa and one each in Nirmand of Kullu and Theog of Shimla district.
51 distribution Power Transformer regions are down in the state including 30 in Manali and 21 in Pangi subdivision of Chamba. Seven water supply schemes are affected by heavy snowfall or freezing of pipe line in Lahaul-Spiti district including five in Lahaul and two in Udaipur regions.
Visibility is reduced in the day and people are confined indoor and at fire places to brave the cold wave. A very few people can bee seen in the markets and outside their homes as inclement weather has intensified the cold-wave in the state.
District Administration have asked the public works department and Shimla Municipal Corporation to be ready to clear snow from the roads as forecast of heavy snowfall was made for the next 24hrs.
