Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN has been conferred with Life Time Achievement award by Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). The award was conferred during a virtual function organized by ICI on Concrete Day & Construction Excellence Awards 2020.
The Agriculture graduate from Palampur University of Himachal Pradesh, Sharma is heading SJVN Limited as Chairman & Managing Director, a Schedule A, MiniRatna Public Sector Enterprise, currently. Under the leadership of the former services officer SJVN has emerged as a major player in Power Sector in India and neighboring countries, stated a spokesperson of the PSU. “SJVN currently is constructing five (5) Power Projects with capacity of around 3000 MW in India, Nepal & Bhutan. Brought up in Bilaspur by a humble family his persistent and unrelenting efforts have resulted in allocation of 8 Power Projects in India & Abroad in last two years,” he added. SJVN has set ambitious targets of becoming a 5000 MW company by 2023, 12000 MW company by 2030 and 25000 MW company by 2040.
SJVN’s present installed capacity is 2016.51 MW with portfolio of around 9000 MW, having presence in various sectors of energy generation which includes Hydro, Wind, Solar & Thermal. The company also has presence in the field of Energy Transmission.
