The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has decided to postpone examinations in the Pangi region of Chamba district and Lahaul-Spiti district due to heavy snowfall and rain. The severe weather has damaged roads and pathways, making it difficult for students to reach their exam centers.

In view of student safety, the Board has rescheduled exams for classes 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in these areas. The postponed exams, originally slated from March 4 to March 8, 2025, include subjects like Hindi, Economics, Mathematics, English, Physics, Sanskrit, Financial Literacy, Public Administration, Social Science, and Geography. The new dates for these exams will be announced later.
For the rest of Himachal Pradesh, exams will continue as per the original schedule. Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, Secretary of the Board, stated, “We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. Due to adverse weather and damaged roads, we have postponed exams in these regions to ensure no student faces inconvenience.”
The Board has communicated this decision to the Secretary of Education, the Director of Higher Elementary Education, and other relevant officials for necessary action. Students and parents are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for updates on the revised exam schedule.
