Himachal Pradesh Government today declared three days of state mourning following demise of former CM Virbhadra Singh who died at IGMC hospital here today after prolonged illness.
A government spokesperson informed that the state government has declared state mourning for three days w.e.f from 8 July to 10 July2021 as a mark of respect to Virbhadra Singh former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh who passed away in the early hours of 8 July,2021 . There shall be no official entertainment during this period. All state government offices including Boards, Corporation and Autonomous Institution except the offices dealing with the essentional services shall remain closed on 8th of July, 2021.
The mortal remains of Singh were brought to his residence at Hollylodge from IGMC Shimla in a vehicle and kept for public to pay last tribute.
IGMC Senior Medical Superintendent Dr Janak Raj informed that Singh died after pulmonary cardic arrest at 0340hrs on Today. He was in the hospital since April 30.
The cremation service of Singh will take place at his ancestral home Rampur.
