Himachal Pradesh which recorded 41 cases of COVID-19 in last one and half month is likely to become Corona Virus Free tomorrow after the patient from Sirmaur district is declared ‘Cured’.
This was stated by the Director General of State Police Sitaram Mardi while giving an official statement on the police Facebook account here today.
He said that testing of only one active patient (belonged to Paonta Sahib area of Sirmaur district currently under treatment at ESI Hospital Katha in Baddi of Solan district) would be done tomorrow. If this patient would test negative then state can be termed #Corono’ free.
However it does not means that there would not be any cases in the future, DGP said adding that state Chief ministers and people of state deserve appreciation for controlling the outbreak efficiently . He said that number of COVID cases mounted to 44000 in the country as Pandemic took more than 1300 people so far.
“We could say that we have won the first battle and but the war continues. He said that people needed to be aware and those who are senior citizen of 65 yrs age group, pregnant woman and children below 10 yrs are advised to be confined to home.He said that these people could come out of their house in case of health consultation and other important work.
DGP urged  the police jawan to not  stop migrant and other construction workers to go on their works since such people earn livelihood by working the entire day.
DGP asked the people to show respect to the dedicated police, health officers, Nurses and Asha worker as they were performing their duties without caring for themselves. He warned the people that if anyone would found attacking and stopping the front line staff while performing their duty police would ensure stringent action against the violators and
guilty.
Mardi said that according to a Survey of 2018 less than 29.9 per cent people liked police personnel in the country but as per a recent survey conducted by a agency revealed that more than 69.9 per cent people like police which shows that people are liking the police which is satisfactory performance. He added that this number may be more than the the national percentage in the state.
Cautioning people from cyber scamsters or fraudsters for sending fake messages and sms for collecting information from people Mardi said that they should be awarded and alerted since online and cyber frauds are on rise currently .
He said that such crimes have increased after stopping the  EMI payment by banks for next three months.
Referring about the 14 days quarantine of those who are returning to state police chief said that it should not be consider a punishment for their return to state however it is their duty to safe them and others from pandemic.
He warned that family or village members should not discriminate the ones who have  returned  home recently, rather they should help or guide them for following the instructions.
