As new cases continue pouring in large numbers in the hill state after migration of people from the high loaded Virus cities one woman succumbs to SARS COV-2 at Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital(IGMC) here this morning , confirmed a senior medical officer.
A 58 yr old Geeta Devi wife of Raj Kumar resident of Mehlaru and post office Beed-Baghera of Sujanpur subdivision in Hamirpur died on Wednesday, confirmed Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj.
The woman returned to the state from Noida on May 29 and she was at Government High School Dhamidiyana of Sujan for institutional quarantine. She had shifted to Public Works Department Guest house on May 31. After detoriation in the health condition was rushed to Civil Hospital Sujanpur and later refered to Radhakrishanan Medical College Hamirpur. Where after she was shifted to IGMC Shimla from Hamipur on Jun 4 due to Kidney ailment .
The deceased tested positive for Covid -19 at IGMC on Tuesday. She succumbed to pandemic today at IGMC increasing the death toll to seven in the state.
So far two death each have been reported in Mandi and Hamirpur, one each in Kangra, Solan and Shimla districts.
Till date 450 positive cases of COVID-19 were found in the state including 186 active cases. About 247 people have recovered from the Pandemic.
