On Saturday 54 people were tested for COVID-19 at IGMC Shimla, out of which 3 people from Baddi (Nalagarh) who had returned from Delhi hotspot were found positive and their treatment has started at IGMC Shimla informed by Additional Chief Secretary Health RD Dhiman here. Adding that from the same region four other people, in contact with COVID-19 positive women who passed away at PGI Chandigarh, have also been found positive. “However all four have already been taken out of the state for treatment,” added Dhiman. He said all people who had come in contact with these positive patients are identified and their samples have been sent for testing. He said yesterday 33 samples were taken at Dr RPGMC Tanda, which could not get tested due to technical reasons; shall be sent again.
Further adding he stated that today 21 samples were taken at Tanda college; reports are awaited. Five samples at IGMC Shimla were also tested today, which were all found negative. He confirmed that till date statewide 13 people have been found positive. Out of them 7 people are under treatment in the state, one has been treated and discharged and one lost life, he informed. The rest four have been shifted out of state for treatment. A total of 4352 people had been kept under quarantine of which 1892 people have completed 28 days of quarantine.
He said the treatment package of COVID-19 is now covered under the state government run HIMCARE and Ayushman scheme. Adding that, statewide under the ‘Active Case Finding’ campaign approximately 13.5 lac citizens have been scanned in the past 2 days.
COVID 19 test facility has been started at CRI Kasauli and all tests pertaining to Sirmour and Solan district are being sent to them for testing, he concluded.
