Shimla, Nov 11
A 3.6 magnitude earthquake experienced in the Lahaul-spiti district of Himachal Pradesh last evening epicenter was located in the hills of Ladakh , said the Indian Meteorological Department in a press communique.
The spokesperson of IMD said that bordering area of Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal was jolted by 3.6 magnitude earthquake at 1911 hrs on Wednesday, however no loss to life and property reported due to the impact of earthquake sofar.
The epicentre of earthquake was measured at the Latitude of 32. 42 degree North and Longitude
of 79.07 degree East and ten kilometer deep in the hills of Ladhak district on India- China borders
of Himachal About 257 km from the Tourist resort Manali in Kullu district.
Met Office said that magnitude of 3.6 falls in the schedule VI in the yellow category. The shockwave of the earthquake was profound in 100 km from the radius many parts of Himachal, Jummu and Kashimir, Uttrakhand and Tibet.
Five district of Himachal Pradesh fall in highly seismic prone schedule IV and V areas of the earthquake.
It worthwhile to mention that 4.4 Magnitude earth quake had also occurred on Nov 9, 2021 in Kinnuar district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
