Normal life which was out of gear on Monday due to snowfall and cold weather is returning to normal with mainly dry and sunny skies on Tuesday. The Met Office said that night temperature plummet to minus 9.4 degree Celsius at Keylong in Lahaul Spiti which is coldest of the season and five degrees below normal.
The chief amount of Snow was recorded at Kalpa had eight cm, Kukumsheri in Lahual Spiti
six cm, Khadrala five cm, Shilaroo -two cm, tourist resort Kufri and Sangla in Kinnuar one cm each.
Jubbar Hatti in Shimla district had 18 mm rain, Banjar in Kullu 14 mm, Gohar in Mandi 12 mm, Kandaghat in Solan 11 mm, Bharmour in Chamba & Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur nine mm each, Karsog in Mandi, Sarkaghat, Solan, & Rohru – 8mm each, Shimla, Mashobra, Baijnath, & Reckong Peo seven mm and Rampur and Mandi six mm, Palampur in Kangra, Manali, Bijahi and Bhuntar in Kullu five mm
107 link road and Two national highway including Gramphu to Lossar , NH03 Rohtang pass
and Darcha to Sarchu are snowbound. Power supply is off in Pooh subdivision of Kinnuar and water pipes lines freeze and are disrupted in 16 water supply schemes including ten in Kalpa and six in Spiti division.
Two women died and many others injured as a pick up car carrying about 27 persons fell down at Sarognalah near Bharari in Chamba district.
In and around Shimla, vehicular traffic was disrupted at Kufri and Narkanda on Hindustan Tibet National highway and NH-88 between Chakkar and Tawimorh due to freezing snow, rain water and sleet as was slippery in some points; however with sunny weather on Tuesday normal life is coming on the track in the state.
The police and Public works departments machinery are deployed to clear the traffic and open the snowbound roads on war footing.
Minimum temperature of Kalpa in Kinnuar was minus four degrees and three degrees down the normal, Kufri minus 1.2 degrees, Manali minus 0.4 degrees, Solan 2.6 degrees
Bhuntar 2.8 degrees, Sundernagar 3.6 degrees, Shimla 3.9 degrees, Palampur 4.2 degrees, Hamirpur 4.3 degrees, Chamba 4.9 degrees, Dalhousie 5.7 degrees, Mandi 6.2 degrees, Bilaspur 6.5 degrees, Dharmshala, Kangra and Una 7.2 degrees each, Jubbarhati eight degrees and Nahan 11.6 degrees.

next 24 hrs.
