Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul Valley which is now on the international tourist map after opening of
24X7 Rohtang Tunnel will now be accessible for even budget tourists/visitors from July 3 as a Volvo Bus service would ply on Keylong- Delhi route after two years gap due to Corona Pandemic.
A Government official informed that IT Minister Ram Lal Markanda would give green signal to the Volvo bus services at Keylong district headquarter of Lahaul Spiti district on July 3 which would run between Keylong on Delhi route.
After opening of Rohtang tunnel last year, this bus service would now faciliate tourists and local people for reaching Keylong in one day.
The luxurious and high end bus service would provide a comfortable journey to this location. Besides, opening a new chapter for the first time in state tourism development a special bus service would also be plied on Manali-Chandertal route on the same day. The Chandertall snow lake is located at 14100 feet above the sea level is a heavenly abode to be one of its kind economical tourist destination facilated by HRTC bus service .
The Volvo bus services which could not ply on the snow passes in earlier days would now open a new chapter in state tourism. The state transport would now expose the untapped and virgin destinations to tourists, this giving a flip to the local economy and showcase the grand tribal culture to the world .
In addition to the two bus services a 37 seater Bus of HRTC would also set its journey from July 4 between Kaza of Spiti valley to Trilokinath of Lahaul valley. The first time,this service would also be dedicated to tourist and local by the Tribal development and IT Minster who is also legislator of Lahaul Spiti assembly segment.
Regional Manger of HRTC Keylong Depot informed that in the first phase this bus service would be started on trial basis for 15 days on July 4. If the service would attract good footfall or occupancy then it would be converted to a regular route. The trail of Pangi Valley – Chamba bus service remained successful and  first Keylong-Leh bus service would also be on the route from tomorrow onward.
