After Fresh snowfall and rain in few places of the state minimum temperature noose dived this season at Keylong to minus 1.3 degrees i.e down by two degrees.
Besides last 24 hrs wet weather has disrupted vehicular traffic and stranded number of tourists and locals due to snow in many high passes, the Indian Meteorological Department confirmed.
The gateway of Lahaul Spiti Rohtang Pass( 13050 ft) Kunzum pass, Goshal hill, Saptatrishi hills
and Lady of Keylong, Baralacha and other high passes were wrapped in a thick blanket of fresh snowfall in the Lahaul Spiti.
Hansa in Lahaul Spiti had 38 cm snow, Koksar 15.3 cm, Sumdo 13.5 mm and Gondla eight cm.
Baralacha and Rohtang pass recorded one to two feet snowfall closing down the vehicular traffic, Deputy Commissioner of the district said Neeraj Kumar.
He said that with clear weather today about 150 people stranded at Darcha, Sumdo and Batal to be
evacuated by the administration today.
He said that rain and snowfall disrupted vehicular traffic in many places. Manali- Keylong and Manali Leh road snowbound since last 24 hrs due to mounting of two feet snowfall likely to be clear today however the highway was closed yesterday.
Sangla in Kinnuar, Reckong-Peo, 54.4 mm, Kalpa 50.2 mm, Sarhana in Shimla 26 mm, Rampur in Shimla 25.5 mm,.
Minimum temperature noose dived this season at Keylong as it was minus 1.3 degrees.down by two degrees. Kalpa in Kinnuar was 0.4 degrees. The mercury went down below freezing point first time in this season as tourist resort Manali is 4.8 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu and Kufri in Shimla eight degrees, Dalhousie 10 degree and Sundernagar
9.3 degrees.
Shimla 11.2 degrees,Solan 9.4 degrees, Mandi 11.6 degrees, Chamba 12.3 degrees, Hamipur 13 degrees, Bilaspur 14 degrees, Kangra 14 degrees, Dharmshala 15 degrees, Una 16.5 degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur 16.7 degrees.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hrs .
