In spite of adequate awareness campaigns, the negligence of medical staff, kith and kin of Corona patients is proved a big matter of concern for Mandi district. Near about 60 person including medical staff and other contacts have been put into to home and institutional quarantine after two positive cases of #COVID-19 here. It’s shows the magnitude of threat to residents of Mandi district.
On 4th and 5th May, subsequently two person tested positive for Corona virus in Mandi district. First positive case is related to Joginder nagar subdivision and second was related to Sarkaghat subdivision who died at IGMC Shimla undergoing treatment. According to information from health department 16 person who had came in direct and indirect contact with patient because he had came back with three other person from Delhi by a hired taxi have been quarantined.
In second case, 21 year year old young boy from ‘Dev Bradta’ panchayat of Sarkaghat subdivision also tested positive for COVID-19 and died while he was undergoing treatment in IGMC Shimla. The deceased boy was kidney patient and doctors and paramedical staff failed to take proper precaution as per corona protocol when he was admitted in Sarkaghat Hospital for treatment. https://himscape.dxpsites.net/deceased-corona-positive-also-from-mandi/ Hospital administration referred him to Shri Lal bahadur Shastri Medical College nerchowk. Patient was also taken to hospital for necessary tests. Owing to this negligence now health department has put total 48 person in quarantine. These include 14 doctor and paramedical of SLBSGMCH Nerchowk, 13 doctor and paramedical of Sarkaghat and Mandi Hospital, and 17 family member and relative of deceased.
The incidence reflects that even after proper training and awareness campaigning our society and even medical staff is not taking this endemic seriously. People are not following quarantine rules and health staff is also seems negligent.
It is an alarming condition for district administration as thousands of people are being brought to Himachal Pradesh and Mandi district from other states.
CMO Mandi doctor Jeevanand Chauhan confirmed that after two person tested positive for Corona virus in Mandi district, total 48 person are put in home quarantine including four patient and medical staff in Mandi district. 14 medical staff include doctor and paramedical of Shri Lal bahadur Shastri Medical College and Hospital Nerchowk also sent to quarantine.
