Bir-Billing based paraglider pilot belonging to Delhi has been missing since the last four days as he could not be traced despite massive rescue and search operations in the entire stretch of forest including inaccessible places of Dhauladhar ranges. Bir Billing Paragliding Association tracing the missing pilot stated on Monday that Helicopter sorties were conducted beside ground teams search operations and could not accomplish the task so far.
In a Solo flight on Friday the pilot went missing from the last location in Dhauladhar ranges near Palampur after taking off from Bir billing paragliding range under Baijnath subdivision of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh .
The missing pilot took off from Billing flying range along with other pilots in two separate paragliders however the latter landed safely at Bir.
Subdivision Magistrate Baijnath Chhavi Nanta confirmed that pilot Rohit Bhadaria (45yrs) was staying at Bir billing in a rented house for four to five months and belonged to Delhi.
He went missing since 1530hrs of Friday while he was flying over Uttrala heights. No communications could be established with the pilot so far.
The family members of the pilot sought assistance from state administration and a helicopter. Currently three to four teams are conducting ground search to trace him, she added.
