Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital Shimla recorded four fresh cases of the mysterious viral fever ‘scrub typhus’ in this rainy season. Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj said that out of 84 sample tested for scrub typhus this session four are tested positive for viral infection.
It is worth while to mention that this outbreak spread make way every rainy season from a bug bite in the grassy landscape and bushes. About 35 to 50 people die every year from this seasonal fever which is mostly infecting rural women.
