A Rolled down boulder (stone) on the Kalka-Shimla Rail-line near Borag derailed Shimla-Kalka Motor- Rail car this morning, informed Official of Northern Railway here today.
Superintendent of Shimla Station Joginder Singh said that a boulder derailed a single boggy of Shimla bound Shimla- Kalka Motor Rail car near Barog ahead of Kumarhati in Solan district this morning.
He said that rail car was on upward journey from Kalka to Shimla when due to overnight incessant rainfall a boulder probably rolled down, was lying on the rail track stopped and derailed the car.
All passengers are safe. He said that the Rail car was carrying nine passengers.
He said that incident occurred around 0745hrs this morning however the railway Authority restored the suspended track after two hours. He said that all other train services have been restored on the heritage track.
It is worthwhile to mention that incessant rainfall is continuing since last night in many places of Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur and Kangra district disrupted normal life in the state.
